HenCondo in Arizona

Michelle and Warren's HenCondo

Note: We have recommended that Michelle and

Warren go to a local hardware store to

purchase a "mister" for the end of a garden

hose. A fine spray of water over the

sunroom area will protect the chickens from

heat stress in the hot Arizona climate.

A mister is recommended in AZ

for any style chicken coop.

We have wanted chickens for some time now but were not sure how to build a chicken coop.  Once we started searching the HenCondo appealed to us because we live in a community with an HOA and we wanted something discreet and easy to assemble.  The larger coops we saw on the internet were costly and looked too intimidating to build.  We bought the stealth coop and found two baby chicks from a local feed store.

The coop took about 4 hours for me to assemble.  We kept the baby chicks in the garage for 4 weeks until they started to grow some feathers.  At four weeks we moved them into the coop with a heat lamp and love going out to watch them grow daily.

The coop gives us the peace of mind that predators will not get into it and that the enclosed portion can protect them from the wind and rain.  It has already rained 3 times since they have been outside but they have been perfectly comfortable.  We have shown several of our friends and they are all amazed that we have chickens in our backyard!  We love the HenCondo!
